The Soap Cycle is a Johannesburg-based family business started in 2015. We make premium soap by hand for the South African and international market. Our five core principles are:
- Keep it natural – and organic where possible. There are no preservatives, fixatives, or colourants in our products.
- Support environmental sustainability. We do not use palm oil in our products as it is difficult to establish whether forests were cleared (and people displaced) to grow the palm trees from which the oil is extracted.
- Recycle wherever possible. We encourage the refilling of our glass bottles with our soap and recycling where this is not possible.
- Create local jobs. The greater the demand for our products, the more jobs we are able to create for the unemployed youth of our country.
- Act with integrity. We strive to be open and transparent with our customers and to be highly responsive to them.
